San Jose Super and Sprint Weekend

According to Miwok and Ohlone mythology, Mount Diablo is the place where the world began. It’s happening again, and you’re invited. Under the warm glow of the California sun, Spartans will come together to brave heat and hills on an expansive range of wooded trails. On a low, ancient savannah rich with legend, thousands of Spartans will join in celebration, vie for glory, and enjoy the renewal that only comes after a day of relentless drive. That, or they will bow at the feet of the unforgiving, blood-red Mount Diablo. Scenic Diablo Grande is a 30,000-acre ranch, resort, and nature park in Diablo Grande, CA. Just 30 minutes from Modesto, this wide-open space lets Spartans make a complete escape from the madness of modern life—without dropping them in the remotest wilderness. After the race, or between heats, Spartans can easily visit the city for a much-needed rest and recharge. One hour west by car, beautiful San Francisco offers Spartans more healthy and delicious ways to dine than we can list here. TOP 5 REASONS TO GRAB DIABLO GRANDE BY THE HORNS: 1. In addition to a formidable Spartan Super course, Diablo Grande is home to 520 miles of hiking and biking trails. You’ll want to be there at sunset to see Mount Diablo’s bright red glow. 2. Take a tour of the largest winery and wine manufacturing company in the world: E.&J. Gallo Winery. 3. No matter your take on the Spartan Diet—there is a delicious meal option for you at Bauer’s 66 ½. (Bring in local wine for an $8 uncorking fee.) 4. Just two hours away by car, the massive Golden Gate Bridge is just waiting for a group of daring Spartans to reinterpret the 30-Day Lunge challenge... 5. Recharge and refuel at one of Modesto’s endless dining options: from sushi to high-class Italian to divine falafels to top-quality Thai.

San Jose Hurricane Heat

San Jose Hurricane Heat

Hurricane Heat (or HH) is a team-based event designed to push racers to greater personal distances. There are no timing chips and no bibs. There is no individual competition. Each HH is a unique experience directly related to the individuality of the venue, so distances and times vary. You will be challenged, and as a team, you will succeed.

San Jose Sprint

San Jose Sprint

The Sprint may be our shortest distance race, but it’s still a favorite among both new and returning racers. It’s the perfect distance for those looking to start their Spartan journey. The Sprint also allows returning racers a manageable distance to see how far they can push themselves. Delivering 20-23 obstacles over 3-5 miles, you'll never run the same race twice. Once you complete the sprint you are 1/3 on your Spartan TRIFECTA: The ultimate Spartan achievement.

San Jose Super

San Jose Super

There’s nothing mediocre about this middle distance race. The Spartan Super offers the ideal blend between distance and speed. Offering racers a true athletic test. If you consider yourself a more seasoned athlete determined to push beyond excuses, you just might have the mettle for a Spartan Super. Serving up 24-29 Spartan Obstacles and 8-10 miles of rugged terrain, the Spartan Super spares no one. Developed as the second race in the Spartan Trifecta, the Super is where you prove to yourself you’ve got everything it takes to face the Beast.

Register Now! AROO!

Callout your friends, co-workers and loved ones to get off the couch and into the mud.

Whether they’re helping you over the wall or chasing you up the mountain, make sure they’re with you at the starting line.

Teams can be any size but must have at least 4 members to be included in the team rankings.

The best way to ensure that you are starting at the exact same start time as your friends is to create a Team during registration (or have your friends Join your team!).

Any racers that are registered as part of a team, on the SAME DAY in the SAME TIME BLOCK (Elite vs. Age Group vs. Morning vs. Afternoon), will be moved to the common team start time in each block when start times and bib numbers are assigned (about 10 days prior to the event). Racers that are registered for Sunday will not be moved to Saturday with a team, or vice versa.

Team times are NOT determined by the captains start time. Team members will be grouped together within each block (Elite, Age Group, Morning OR Afternoon), based on the preferred time that the majority of team members in that block choose.

Racers that are registered for Elite or Morning start times will NOT be grouped with racers in the Afternoon start times or vice versa.

Getting all your friends registered and lined up together on race day can be tricky. Avoid any confusion by checking out: 2018: Team Registration and Start Times.

Bring your friends and family to the race to watch you conquer obstacles, dominate the finish line and receive your medal!

Racers, your fans will motivate you over the wall and past the finish line. You wouldn’t believe how far a cheering section will go when you’re exhausted. Your fans will also enjoy music, raffles, entertainment, and festival challenges.

Most importantly, fans will receive a front row seat to watch racers from a safe, comfortable, and relatively mud-less (no promises) Spartan Race festival ground area! And, when it’s over, they receive muddy hugs from thrilled Spartan athletes. After all, what’s a sport without fans?

Cost: $20 Online until Friday prior to the Event. $25 on site (Cash Only).

As a Spartan Race spectator, you’ll get: $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, a festival map, access to view multiple key obstacles on the course, finish line viewing, the vendor tents, and hot food for sale on the grounds!
